Hard Disk Best Storage Practices for Entertainment and Consumer Electronics

Abstract

Best hard disk drive (HDD) practices will be discussed for reliability, cost, and DRM. Applications covered include (1) consumer electronics HDD products, (2) reliable low cost storage systems using serial ATA HDDs, to insure storage system data integrity and lower total cost of ownership, (3) using HDDs for archival storage, and (4) removing user data from released disks for DRM.
