Awards Winners

David Takata, president and CEO of Engage Capital was co-sponsor with the Storage Visions Conference for the Storage Visions awards for the third year in a row.

Storage Visions 2006 Special Awards:

An award was given to the International CES for its support of digital storage and the third year of its partnership with the Storage Visions Conference.

The second annual Storage Industry Service Award was given to James N. Porter, a well known analyst of digital storage and a tireless supporter of storage events and activities such as Storage Visions.

The results of the Storage Visions 2006 Awards:

Dream’eo was recognized with the Mobile Consumer Electronics award for its Enza Portable Media Center as a well executed consumer device using digital storage for video and other content.

Toshiba Storage Systems Division won the Consumer Storage award for the use of perpendicular recording to create a large capacity 1.8-inch hard disk drive.

The award for Integrated Home Entertainment went to Interact TV for their TeraTelly home media server.

The award for Production/Post-Production Class System went to Maxtor for the One Touch III, Turbo Edition--designed for Apple video editing.

The award for Production/Post-Production Class Media was given to Quantum for their MXF metadata aware SDLT 600A tape.

Samsung and Microsoft were jointly given the Visionary Consumer Electronics Award for their pioneering work on Hybrid Hard Disk drives which is part of Microsoft Corporation's Windows Vista operating system due out later this year.

The award for Visionary Media and Entertainment went to Turner Broadcasting System for supporting innovative storage solutions for entertainment creation, distribution and archiving.

M-Systems was awarded the Visionary Services and Support award for their support of customer designs with novel and easily integrated storage products for the mobile consumer and other markets.
