Important information
for the
Storage Visions/Home Gateway Conference 2004 Awards
The Storage Visions/Home Gateway Conference Awards
are presented to firms that advance the state of the art in storage
technologies utilized in consumer electronics, and in the media and
entertainment industries, and to service firms that support those businesses.
The awards presentation for SVHGC 2004 will be conducted at the Las
Vegas Convention Center on the evening of Tuesday, January 6, 2004.
A press conference with product demonstrations will be held following
the awards ceremony.
A panel of industry experts will serve as judges. For each product category,
judges will give priority to the product/service or company’s
role in fulfilling the vision of a digitally-connected universe of products
and services. For complex products, judges will require access to physically
inspect and review a demonstration by a company representative or designee.
Finalists will be notified via e-mail no later than December 19, 2003.
Winners will not be notified prior to the official awards ceremony and
press conference. Immediately following the ceremony, winners will receive
their awards.
Entry Criteria
We will only consider products and services for which
we have received nominations through the admissions process.
Entries for Storage Visions Awards 2004 will be open from August 1,
2003 thru November 28, 2003. In addition to peer nominations, companies
and their representatives are welcome to nominate their own products
or services. Late entries may or may not be considered, at the discretion
of the judges.
Nominations must conform to the submission guidelines below.

For product awards consideration, vendors are requested
to coordinate the shipping of demo products with the Storage Visions.

Awards
MOBILE CONSUMER ELECTRONICS: Mobile
personal systems utilizing onboard storage featuring small packaging,
shock resistance, and low-power usage.
MOBILE STORAGE: Advanced development
of storage devices and media used in mobile consumer electronics systems.
MOBILE MASS STORAGE: High-capacity storage systems for mobile applications
where significant local write capabilities are a requirement.
INTEGRATED HOME ENTERTAINMENT: Innovative
use of data storage in the home environment.
ENTERPRISE-CLASS SYSTEMS: Storage
technologies supporting the development of content creation in the enterprise,
including those systems used by the media and entertainment industry.
ENTERPRISE-CLASS MEDIA: Advanced development
of media used in enterprise-class systems, including media used by the
media and entertainment industry.

A special award in three categories will be presented
to firms that have shown extraordinary dedication to the development
and support of the show theme:
“ Advancing the state of the art in storage technologies utilized
